Motorola on Friday officially announced Android 9 Pie update for the Motorola One Power (Review). The company has started pushing out the OTA update to its Android One device and users in India should see it over the next few days. The One Power is the first Motorola device to receive the Pie update officially. There have been reports that the Moto X4 is also getting the Pie update, but Motorola has not confirmed this as yet.The Motorola One Power is part of the company’s new series of Android One smartphones in collaboration with Google. It was launched in India in September and went on sale in October at a pretty competitive price of Rs 15,999. The phone ships with a stock and clean version of Android Oreo and users will now be able to update it to Android 9 Pie. With Pie, users will see a new UI and redesigned Quick Settings as well as a revamped split-screen.The Android 9 Pie update for the Motorola One Power also brings a new gesture navigation, an improved Do Not Disturb mode, Dual SIM Dual VoLTE and improved battery life. Additionally, the update also improves camera performance, specifically for the panorama feature and low-light images.The Motorola One Power is the company’s first notched phone to come to India. It sports a 6.2-inch FHD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 636 chipset which is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with support for expandability. Another major highlight is that the One Power houses a 5,000mAh battery that will deliver a good two days of battery life on a single charge.advertisementAs for the camera, the One Power comes with a 16MP + 5MP setup on the back and a 12-megapixel sensor on the front. As an Android One device, the Motorola One Power promises to deliver faster updates compared to other Motorola phones. Getting the Pie update shows the company is keeping true to that promise.
